Tour Summary
The incredible colors and high Andean shades are present in this magnificent hike to the Ausangate snow-capped mountain and its Seven Lagoons. This is a beautiful one-day tour where you can see several turquoise-green lagoons belonging to the Vilcanota Mountain Range, and also get close to the Ausangate and Qayangate mountains. To complete the tour, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the wonders of the Andes — the relaxing hot springs with a stunning view of the mountains and the daily life of the Pacchanta community.
General Information
Our excursion begins with the pick-up from your hotel in Cusco at 04:00 a.m., to then board our transport and head south of the city for about 4 hours, passing through beautiful inter-Andean landscapes, towns and localities such as Urcos, Ccatcca viewpoint, and Ocongate, until we reach Tinki, where we will have breakfast. Next, we will arrive at Pacchanta, where we will get ready and start our hike through the circuit of the 7 lagoons. During the journey, we will walk approximately 14 km, admiring the different lagoons — the variety of colors of each one creates a perfect natural setting. Our circuit around the lagoons will take around 3 and a half hours. Along the way, we’ll observe the scenic beauty of snow-capped peaks, lagoons, flora, and local fauna, making this excursion a unique and unforgettable experience. Later, we’ll return to the starting point to board our transport and go back to Tinki, where our buffet lunch awaits us. Afterwards, we’ll take the road back to the city of Cusco, arriving around 6:00 p.m.

Itinerary
- 04:00 a.m. — Pick-up from your hotel for the tour and departure to the south of the city.
- 08:30 a.m. — Rustic breakfast in Tinki.
- 09:00 a.m. — Start of the hike (14 kilometers).
- 01:00 p.m. — Arrival and exploration of the Seven Lagoons.
- 03:00 p.m. — Buffet lunch at a tourist restaurant in Tinki.
- 06:00 p.m. — Arrival in Cusco City, end of the tour.

Recommendations
- Do the route considering your physical condition and acclimatization to the altitude. We recommend doing the hike after having a few days to adjust to the high altitude. Our tour guides carry a first aid kit and an oxygen tank for use in case you need it.
- We recommend wearing suitable hiking shoes, as this is a high mountain route.
- Bring a backpack (maximum 25 liters) to carry your camera, hat or cap, sunscreen, and a bottle of water.
- Sometimes it rains in the mountains, so we recommend bringing a jacket to protect yourself from rain and cold, as well as a t-shirt that you can leave in the transport to change into if you get wet at the end of the hike.
- You may also bring coca leaves and candies, as they help give you extra energy during the mountain hike.
