Horseback Riding in Sacsayhuamán and Surrounding Areas

Saturday, 4 October, 2025 | One Day Tours | 0 Comentarios

Tour Summary

Horseback riding is a completely different experience from any other. Ride through the impressive landscapes of this wonderful area of the Sacred Valley along paths that were perhaps once traveled by the conquerors themselves. We will ride local horses, known for their strength and endurance at high altitudes, as well as for the safety and steadiness of their gait.

General Information

Our activity begins with our guide meeting you at your hotel to provide a brief description of the day’s experience, followed by private transportation to our ranch located about 20 minutes from the city of Cusco.

Upon arrival at the ranch, our guide will give a short briefing on how to control and lead the horses safely. Then, we will put on our helmets—mandatory equipment before mounting the horses that have been chosen according to each rider’s experience and mood.

Once prepared and with the basic riding knowledge, we will begin our adventure toward the Temple of the Moon. At the Temple of the Moon, we will dismount for a short guided visit to this fascinating site, likely used to invoke fertility during pre-Inca and Inca times.

After visiting the Temple of the Moon, we will ride through the eucalyptus forest belonging to the rural community of Huayllarcocha. Passing through this forest, we will arrive at the viewpoint of the archaeological site of Inkilltambo. Inkilltambo was an administrative center and checkpoint for travelers during the height of the Inca Empire. At this viewpoint, we will enjoy our small snacks and talk about Inca history, local flora, and fauna.

We will then ascend on horseback to a point about 3,700 meters above sea level — a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the modern part of the city of Cusco. From here, we can also admire the most important Apus (sacred mountains) of the region and learn about their spiritual importance and function.

We will finish the horseback activity back at the ranch, then take our private transport to visit the impressive archaeological complex of Sacsayhuamán. We’ll enjoy a detailed and unique visit, starting with the area of the Chinkanas or Inca caves, then the “rodadero” (sliding rock), and finally the enormous stone walls, which we’ll explore closely. After finishing the visit to Sacsayhuamán, we’ll return to our hotel, concluding this wonderful experience around the mountains of Cusco.

Machu Picchu by Car

Saturday, 4 October, 2025 | Machu Picchu Packages | 0 Comentarios

Tour Summary

This exclusive car tour was created for those who wish to have an experience in harmony with nature, combining a car journey and hiking. Finally, you will visit the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu.

This tour was created due to the high costs and, at times, the difficulty of finding train tickets to Machu Picchu during high season. Therefore, this new alternative route exists for travelers who want to reach Machu Picchu quickly and with less time.

General Information

DAY 1: CUSCO – SANTA MARIA – SANTA TERESA – AGUAS CALIENTES
Early in the morning, after breakfast, you will be picked up by our vehicle to start the journey heading north through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where we will appreciate the different altitudinal levels of the Peruvian Andes. Gradually, we will ascend until reaching the highest point of the mountain, known as “Abra Málaga,” located at 4,318 m.a.s.l. This is a dividing point between the Andes and the Peruvian Amazon, where we will stop to admire the entire Andean mountain range and the cloud forest of the high jungle.

Then, we will begin descending by transport into the jungle, where the landscape becomes greener and the weather warmer. We will arrive at the town of Santa María, where we will take an alternate route passing through a deep valley with fruit and coca plantations until reaching the town of Santa Teresa. In this town, we will have lunch, and after a short rest, we will go to the thermal medicinal baths of Cocalmayo, considered among the best in Peru.

After enjoying a relaxing bath, with joy and patience we take the transport to Hidroelectrica, from where we will walk along the train tracks through a beautiful landscape of mountains covered in dense vegetation, under the sound of cicadas and birds, until reaching the town of Aguas Calientes, where we will have dinner and spend the night.

DAY 2: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU
Very early, around 5:00 a.m., you must be ready to board the transport that will take you to the sacred citadel of Machu Picchu. This short bus trip lasts only 20 minutes, along an unpaved, steep, zigzagging road through a mountain with jungle characteristics and impressive views. Finally, we will arrive at the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, where our local guide will lead a tour through the most important areas of this beautiful Inca city, visiting its main highlights. Later, you will have free time to explore the site on your own. Around 1:00 p.m., we will return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and then start the walk back along the train tracks to Hidroelectrica, arriving around 4:00 p.m., where we will take the bus back to Cusco.

Arrival in Cusco is estimated around 10:00 p.m. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel.

Inca Trail to Machu Picchu

Saturday, 4 October, 2025 | Inca Trail to Machu Picchu | 0 Comentarios

Tour Summary

The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is considered one of the best adventure trekking routes in the world due to its exquisite natural beauty, flora (ferns, lush vegetation, and a variety of orchids), and the presence of endangered species such as the Spectacled Bear (Tremarctos ornatus), the Andean Cock-of-the-Rock (Rupicola peruviana), and the Dwarf Deer (Pudu mephistopheles). Along the route, we will pass through mysterious archaeological sites such as Qorihuayrachina, Llactapata, Runcurakay, Sayacmarca, the Inca Tunnel, Phuyupatamarca, Intipata, Wiñayhuayna, and Inti Punku. This journey includes different ecological zones, from high-altitude deserts to Andean tropical forests, areas covered in vegetation that give the impression of being discovered for the first time, culminating at the lost city of the Incas: Machu Picchu, now the modern “Wonder of the World.”

General Information

Day 01: Cusco – Inca Trail (Km 82 Llactapata Wayllabamba)
Early in the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in our bus and head to Ollantaytambo, where we’ll have time for breakfast in a tourist restaurant. You will also have time to purchase any last-minute items before continuing by bus to Km 82 (Piscacucho), the first checkpoint and starting point of the Inca Trail. After approximately 2 hours of hiking, we’ll arrive at the Inca archaeological site of Llactapata, which means “Llaqta = Town” and “Pata = High Place,” an Inca settlement dedicated to agriculture with many terraces. Our guide will give you a detailed explanation, followed by lunch prepared by our chef. We will then continue our hike through the beautiful Wayllabamba Valley (3,000 masl), where we’ll set up our first campsite, enjoy tea, dinner, and overnight.

Day 02: Inca Trail (Wayllabamba – Warmiwañusca Pass – Pacaymayo)
After breakfast, we continue our 9 km ascent (approx. 5 hours) to the Warmiwañusca Pass, which means “Dead Woman.” From this point, you’ll have a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding mountain ranges. After lunch, we’ll descend from Warmiwañusca to the Pacaymayo Valley, where you’ll enjoy incredible views of the valley, a waterfall on one side, and snow-capped peaks. Here we’ll relax after the day’s challenging hike, have dinner, and spend the night at our second campsite.

Day 03: Inca Trail (Pacaymayo – Wiñayhuayna)
After breakfast, we continue hiking to the archaeological site of Runcurakay, a beautiful oval-shaped Inca construction believed to have served as a watchtower. After a guided visit, we continue to the archaeological site of Sayacmarca, an impressive structure built on a steep slope surrounded by a chain of mountains. Next, we proceed to the Puyupatamarca Archaeological Complex, composed of impressive fountains and water channels—an outstanding example of Inca hydraulic engineering—where we’ll rest and have a guided tour. After lunch, we continue our hike to Wiñayhuayna, where we’ll have our last campsite, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 04: Wiñayhuayna – Machu Picchu – Cusco
Very early in the morning, after breakfast, we continue our hike toward the famous Inti Punku or “Sun Gate” (the control gate for those entering and leaving the Inca City), where we’ll rest and enjoy a breathtaking view of the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu.

We will then have a guided tour of the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu, exploring different areas such as the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Solar Clock, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Royal Cemeteries, and much more. After the guided tour, you will have some free time to continue enjoying this Wonder of the World and take beautiful photos. Afterwards, we’ll descend by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes for lunch. Then we’ll board the return train to Ollantaytambo and continue by van back to Cusco, where we’ll drop you off at your hotel.
