Informacion general

DAY 1: AIRPORT PICKUP – CITY TOUR
We will pick you up from the airport with a sign displaying your name and take you to your hotel. Once settled, we will begin the city tour.

The first place we will visit is the Cusco Cathedral to appreciate all the colonial art it houses. After that, we will head to the Inca temple of Qoricancha, known as the “Temple of the Sun,” where the impressive engineering used in its construction is truly remarkable. Then we will visit the Sacsayhuaman archaeological complex, located 3 km from the city of Cusco. This impressive Inca fortress boasts monumental stones and excellent architecture. It is famous for its enormous carved stones, some of which are 9 meters (30 feet) high and weigh more than 350 tons. This is where Inti Raymi, or the Festival of the Sun, takes place.

Next, we will visit Qenqo, a ceremonial and ritual center, an amphitheater where sacrifices were performed. Following that, we will visit Puca-Pucara, an ancient tambo, or place where the Incas stored their agricultural products and served as a lookout post along the Inca roads. Finally, we will visit Tambomachay, 7 km from the city of Cusco, a ceremonial center dedicated to water worship, and then return to Cusco.

Overnight at the Amaru Cusco Hotel (may vary).

DAY 2: MACHU PICCHU FULL DAY

Very early in the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and take you to the Ollantaytambo train station to board the train that will take you through the Sacred Valley of the Incas to the town of Aguas Calientes. We will arrive in Aguas Calientes at approximately 9:00 AM, and from there, we will take a bus to the Machu Picchu Archaeological Park, located high in the mountains. Once at Machu Picchu, after checking in your tickets, our guide will begin the guided tour, providing you with a deeper understanding of the history and architecture of the Inca city of Machu Picchu. You will be amazed by the Inca constructions and temples, as well as the surrounding natural environment. In the afternoon, we will board our train to either the Ollantaytambo or Cusco station, depending on availability. The tour ends in Cusco.

Overnight at the Amaru Cusco Hotel (may vary).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE TOURIST TRAIN
The determining factor for reaching Machu Picchu is the tourist train, and there are two options when using the train; the route is the same, only the carriages and schedules vary: Expedition Train Peru Rail and Voyager Train Inca Rail.

DAY 3: ATVs RAINBOW MOUNTAIN

4:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

We depart early from your hotel, between 4:00 and 4:30 am, heading towards the town of Cusipata, a 1 hour 30 minute drive, where we will have breakfast. Then we travel in our vehicle along the Checacupe route, passing by the impressive Inkacancha constructions in the community of Osefina. About 40 minutes later, we arrive at the Labrayani pass, located at 5200 meters above sea level. We also pass by the Qosqo Kawarina viewpoint, offering a breathtaking view of the Ausangate mountain and the Labrayani and Huampococha lagoons. We then arrive at the Antapampa ATV station at 4600 meters above sea level. Here we will have the necessary introduction and training on ATVs before setting off. The ATV ride will take approximately 30 minutes. We’ll ascend through the Red Valley to 5100 meters above sea level, where we’ll begin a hike that will take approximately 20 to 30 minutes. We’ll pass by the main viewpoints of the Red Valley, enjoying the scenery until we reach Rainbow Mountain. There, you’ll be able to appreciate the marvelous combination of colors and geological formations, with time to photograph the incredible landscape.
