Humantay Lagoon by bike Full Day

Tour Summary

The Humantay Lagoon biking tour lasts one day and is designed for travelers who love adventure and adrenaline. It consists of a 3-hour downhill biking experience from Soraypampa to Mollepata after visiting the stunning Humantay Lagoon.

General Information

We will pick you up from your hotel at 5:00 a.m. in our private transportation to head north of the city of Cusco, toward the town of Mollepata, a pleasant-climate place located at 2,900 meters above sea level. There, we’ll arrive at the Salkantay House Museum Restaurant — a beautiful spot where, in addition to enjoying a buffet breakfast, you’ll take in the breathtaking natural scenery of the Apurímac Valley.

We’ll then continue for one more hour on an unpaved road toward Soraypampa, a tourist camp located at 3,800 meters above sea level. From this point, we’ll begin our hike to the Humantay Lagoon, which takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, reaching 4,300 meters above sea level. (Remember that horses can be rented in Soraypampa.)

At Humantay Lagoon, you’ll have free time to take the best photos of the area and, after a symbolic mystical ceremony, we’ll return on foot to Soraypampa. From there, the adventure begins aboard our professional mountain bikes. We’ll descend from 3,800 meters to 3,000 meters above sea level, following the trail that connects Mollepata and Soraypampa — 2 hours of pure adventure and full adrenaline, guided by our expert biking guide.

Finally, we’ll return to the Salkantay House Museum Restaurant for a buffet lunch, where our guide will also explain the archaeological pieces found in the area.

We’ll return to the city of Cusco between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
