General Information

DAY 1: WELCOME TO CUSCO – CITY TOUR
Depending on your flight time, our concierge will meet you at the airport with private transportation to your hotel so you can get comfortable before starting the activities.
The Cusco city and surroundings tour is the best option to start discovering the Inca capital on your first day of arrival. The tour begins with pick-up at 1:20 p.m. and ends around 6:30 p.m.
The first place we will visit is the Inca temple of Koricancha and the Convent of Santo Domingo, a religious center known as the “Temple of the Sun,” where the impressive engineering used in its construction stands out. Then we will visit the archaeological complex of Sacsayhuaman, located 3 km from the city of Cusco, an impressive Inca fortress built with monumental stones and excellent architecture. It is famous for its huge carved stones, some reaching 9 m/30 ft in height and weighing over 350 tons. This is where the Inti Raymi or “Festival of the Sun” takes place.
Next, we will visit Qenqo, a ceremonial and ritual center, an amphitheater where sacrifices were made; then Puca Pucara, an ancient Inca post used for storing agricultural products and as a watchtower along the Inca trails. Finally, we will visit Tambomachay, 7 km from Cusco, a ceremonial center dedicated to water worship, before returning to the city of Cusco.

DAY 2: CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY – OLLANTAYTAMBO – AGUAS CALIENTES
We will pick you up at 8:00 a.m. to take our transport and head first to Corao, where we can observe beautiful South American camelids. Then we will continue our journey along the Vilcanota River, enjoying a panoramic view of the Inca citadel of Pisac, where we’ll have the opportunity to experience the customs of the local people. We will then continue to Urubamba, where we’ll enjoy lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, after lunch, we’ll visit the fortress and citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard this part of the valley and protect it from jungle invasions. We’ll stroll through the village streets to get a clear idea of how this military, religious, and cultural center functioned during Inca times. After the guided tour, we’ll head to the train station to board the train to the town of Aguas Calientes.
Transfer to the hotel. After settling in, our guide will provide a briefing for the most important day — the visit to MACHU PICCHU.

DAY 3: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU CITADEL – CUSCO
We’ll have breakfast early at the hotel. Around 5:50 a.m. we’ll transfer to the bus station to ascend to the Archaeological Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. The trip will take 25 minutes, and we’ll finally arrive to witness the breathtaking sunrise. We’ll begin the guided tour of one of the Seven Wonders of the World: Machu Picchu. Our guide will explain the history and architecture of the citadel — you will be amazed by the Inca constructions and the surrounding natural scenery. After the guided tour, you’ll have free time until 1:00 p.m. to continue exploring and take memorable photos.
We’ll return by bus to Aguas Calientes, and in the afternoon, you’ll have time until 3:30 p.m. to have lunch, relax, and explore the town. At 4:30 p.m., we’ll board the train back to Cusco, arriving around 6:30 p.m., where we’ll pick you up from the train station and transfer you to your hotel. Schedules may vary depending on the train service selected.

DAY 4: FAREWELL – HOTEL TO AIRPORT TRANSFER
At the agreed time, transfer to the airport.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE TOURIST TRAIN
